Twitterpated: Spring or Sprung?

Filed in Archive, Blog by on November 28, 2015 0 Comments

Were you “twitterpated” during spring? The Disney meaning of twitterpated is to fall head-over-heels in love, which – according to this scene from the (1942) Bambi movie – happens to almost everyone in springtime.

However, Twitter has had a new meaning since 2006. So the word “twitterpated” needs to add an updated definition. Should this extra meaning be:

  1. Hopelessly addicted to Twitter?
  2. Absolutely fed up with Twitter to the point of disconnecting?
  3. Having difficulty expressing yourself in 140 characters or fewer? (This definition is obviously derived from the Latin word constipate, to press together.)

Or something else?
